Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel James Wilbur Fonden was charged last Wednesday by the US Department of Justice with conspiring to provide classified information to an agent connected with the Chinese People's Republic. "It is not for the first time that we hear accusations of spying...they are fabricated," the spokesman said at a regular briefing when commenting on reports about the former US Air Force official having been indicted on espionage in favor of China.
